The restaurant is inside a mall, we had a jamica, but it was super watery it was literally water and sugar. The quesabirria was good, but the taquitos de papa were really hard and thick tortillas it hurt my teeth . It was a 7/10

AMAZING Mexican food!! AMAZING Vegan food!! We are so glad we listened to our friend’s recommendation to eat here. You have to come see for yourself. We ordered the sopes with carnitas, burrito with carnitas, and Veganito fries with soy protein. So much FLAVOR! And so much food!! I wish our trip had another day so we could come back tomorrow!!

This might be one of the few infamous reviews. I had been meaning to visit this place for over 5 months. Having read the reviews, I was super excited. I drove an hour to reach this place. We ordered Sopes and Veganito burrito (with Jackfruit). It’s not the first time that I’ve tried vegan mexican food. Honestly, the food didn’t live up to the hype. At best it was average. I’ve had better vegan mexican food in San Diego. The Sopes were too salty. And the burrito was too bland and lacked flavor, particularly the jackfruit. The only good thing was the green salsa. I would not recommend driving there just for food. If you happen to be in the area it may be worth a try. If you want to drive for vegan Mexican, I would recommend Phatties in Escondido (suggestion is not sponsored).

The first time we came here, I had a hard time with the food. I got a burrito (I think the veganito) and although I could tell it was made well, it just wasn’t the meal for me. I didn’t like it. The second time, I got the Poncho’s bowl and I am WOWED. I want to eat this daily. The vegetables were cooked perfectly with a delicious marinade, the pico and avocados were very fresh, and the rice and beans perfectly cooked. I’m glad we gave them a second visit!

They should change the name to “WHOA!” Because that was my reaction after the first bite. I had the Veganito Burrito and was thoroughly impressed. Full of flavor. I used the green sauce that came with our meals and was amazed. Fast, friendly service. Large portions… come hungry! We were told that this is the best Mexican food in San Diego and it lived up to the billing.

This place has mega Vegan Mexican food. I tried the Cali Burrito 🌯 This is a pure San Diego style taqueria, just Vegan! Food is delicious and I put my lenses for scale for this massive burrito... 5 stars eat here. I hope to see one day a stand alone restaurant for El Veganito 🙏

Ordered this bowl ($16-$17 plus $2.50 for side of pico de gallo). Bowl was very yummy and large. But, it wasn’t AS flavorful as I would have liked. Could have used black beans or avocado, but those are also extra.

This is coming form someone who isn’t vegetarian though. The service was great and the menu had many options. If I was vegan, I would be here all the time.

I demolished my food before I could take a picture! This is by far the best vegan Mexican food in San Diego. I dream about this place every night. Going vegan in San Diego was scary, loosing the authentic Mexican food flavors was going to be a bummer… until I found El Veganito!! Don’t fret!! this place does it all and the portions are ridiculous. My only complaint is they’re aren’t open 24/7 for those late night burrito runs!
