Alternate truck route: CA-91 to Brookhurst Rd north, Commonwealth Rd west and then Gilbert St North. Truck entrance is at the intersection of Gilbert St and Moore Ave. Once you get into the industrial area, make a right and then a quick left to get to the Cargill shipping office. Security guard was very helpful. You will need to check in by phone before you head to the docks. When it's not busy there is room to make a u turn in front of the docks. If it there's too many trucks docked to allow a U-turn, you can go backwards through the gate or enter through the exit gate. I would not recommend trying to blind side. Two hours to get loaded. Easy check out process.

Old man Mark that loads tankers is rude, mean for no reason. Can’t speak to with reasoning. Other then get in your truck and move it. One grump, rude old man, if you don’t like your job retire, if your not happy move or leave the job to someone that will be happy coming to work.

Anthony is the best!!!
Best security guard and check in personnel in my all trucking life.
He should train people at all the other trucking receiving and shipping places. Drivers would Love to return just because of him.
Called in the number got the door right away. They already started loading after a few minutes.

I've been here 4 times. First time in about a year. Don't try showing up early for an appointment.
Never been out of here in under 4 hours...after the appointment time.
Every time I been here they say someone called in sick or short handed.
I'm not upset, it's just what you should expect here.
Also, they will reject your trailer. That's no joke. So sweep it spotless. Loads are heavy and not always legal. I think that they figure after being here so long that you won't come back for a rework. It's now after 1600 for a 1300 appointment. If I'm overweight now, I'd have to return tomorrow because they aren't 24/7...
Bottom line...it's a load, but if you have choices, go somewhere else.

Apart from the loaders taking their sweet time to load you, they dont respect your appointment. They'll get you when they want. Also pitty at finding the dumbest excuses not to load you. If they find a spec of dust in your trailer they won't load you. Been hauling for 10 years now and never had a problem till these guys. Also careful with the guy on the phone u check in with. Clearly a liar.

The day shift security guard is friendly and helpful.
TRUCK ROUTE Directions:
* From I-5 South towards Santa Ana, exit 116 to CA-39 / Beach Blvd
* Left on Beach Blvd
* Right on Commonwealth Ave
* Left on N. Gilbert St.
* Right on Moore Ave
From Moore Ave, you'll enter straight into the Industrial Complex. Veer to the right, then left for building 560 located in the back. Once you make the left, the security guard shack is located on the left side of building 566.
TANKER TRUCKS
* Make left after building 560 (between building 560 and other building)
* Go straight to the back over the train tracks
* Make left after building Lab 600
* At the black iron gate, press the call button to enter to the two-tier scaffold for tankers.

Park in alley first, best in front of cargill, other businesses share the lot. Then check in with security guard first (do not drive in) who will instruct you to take a photo of the check in phone numbers. Then call and check in with phone operators and wait for door to be assigned. If no answer, Cargill will call you back...in and out anywhere from one hour to three hours. Depends what time you get there and volume load. Port a potty restroom available. Nothing fancy, seems it's never serviced thou. Mobile food sellers frequent the area if hungry. Overall a descent location. You will be kicked out once loading is complete. They need their doors to continue loading operations.

I have been visiting the company two times already, for training proposes. And I never had problems with the attendants. The wherouse is kind of big, I do understand some truck drivers disappointment. But personally I could only say that everyone was very kind and respectful.
