50 years of service. Downwind ....... and you needed more than a "N95" rated device if you were in the downwind area of that controlled implosion.

I’m very honored to have lived near this plant for the majority of my life. Thank you for the many years of service that you have given us and continue to give us. I am very grateful for the job opportunities that this plant as well as its other local plants have given western Pennsylvania’s families.

Nice view and provides electricity for the community!!!
Yes children, let's remove the power plant. Knock it to the ground. let's go back to burning wood and shivering by the fire. throw your microwave away, throw your stove away, your refrigerator, throw your whole house out. Until we get to the point in RURAL WESTERN PA that we can utilize other means of energy, this is what we have. and this is what's powering your whole techno-centric life.

To the tree huggers that bash coal fired plants
Wind and solar can’t match the output of this plant
This plant sends electricity clear into Dunkirk NY
Now that NRG has no plans to reopen the Dunkirk Generating station
Homer City I’m quite sure is running at darn near full capacity
Closing this plant would definitely put a strain on others
You people really have no clue as to what you are talking about
