DO NOT ORDER TAKE OUT ON THE WEBSITE! We ordered take-out on the website and left special instructions which just magically disappeared. When we got our food, 3/4 meals were wrong. When we called about this, they were no help and just blamed THEIR website (which they should be taking responsibility for). One of our meals was ordered without egg, and had egg mixed in, which could be dangerous for someone with an allergy. In addition to this, my Pad See Ew was awful. Instead of mixing the egg in, they literally put a scrambled egg on top of my meal. Absolutely would not recommend. Staff is always rude and not accommodating in the slightest.

Love this small yet flavorful Thai spot. We came here with some friends and had a great time. The staff were very nice. The food was delicious.

About the Thai Restaurant:
This Thai restaurant, located in Pittsburgh, undoubtedly stands as the best Thai restaurant in town. It's a truly local gem, albeit with no space to sit inside, reflecting its focus on takeaway or to-go orders.

About the Food:
During my visit, I had the pleasure of savoring some incredible dishes. The Thai fried rice was simply mind-blowing, bursting with flavors and leaving a lasting impression. The Khao Soi, a curry noodle entree featuring both pork and chicken, was equally amazing. Additionally, the fried dumplings were a delightful treat. To complete the meal, I enjoyed a refreshing Thai tea, served just the way I like it - light on ice.

In summary, this restaurant offers a culinary experience that's beyond words. The dishes were exceptional and worth every penny. For its incredible food, efficient service, and attention to preferences, this Thai restaurant easily deserves a well-earned five-star rating.

Okay, besties, lemme spill the tea on Smiling Banana Leaf. 🍌 Seriously, this Thai spot? Absolute slaps. Like, I'm talking food coma-level good.

First off, the vibes? Immaculate. Super chill, but still aesthetic. Perfect for a foodie pic dump on the 'gram. I got the Pad Thai (duh, a classic) and it was chef's kiss. The noodles were perfectly chewy, the sauce was fire, Major points for that. 💯

Plus, the service was fast, which is a massive W. No one's got time to wait around when they're hangry.

Honestly, if you're looking for some bomb Thai food that's gonna make your tastebuds do a happy dance, Smiling Banana Leaf is where it's at. Run, don't walk. This place is a whole mood. 💅 5 stars, period.

Great Thai spot in Highland Park. Would recommend the pineapple fried rice, pad see ew, koy soy (get rice on the side). Take out only FYI so order online or by phone. There are picnic tables outdoors which are very nice too.

Wonderful food. I asked for a spicy seven for my Tom Yumand it's just exactly what I wanted. My girlfriend had a spice level one Tom Kha and it was very mild The soups are hardy with lots of vegetables and protein. It's exactly what you need to warm you up on a cold night.

When I was there, I was waiting outside and the staff was kind enough to offer me a place to stand and wait for my food inside to avoid the cold weather. They're all very friendly and incredibly knowledgeable with what comes with the food and how it's cooked. A very small quaint place that I would definitely visit again.

I’d say this is a 4.5 out of 5.

The manager lady is very friendly 🙂 I ordered yellow curry noodle she recommended strongly to me with a spicy level of 2, but it feels like a 5 compared to other Thai restaurants I have tried in Squirrel Hill. I made a comment about this, and she offered me some iced tea drink for free (and it tastes good).

For food itself, I think it tasted great, too. Not a Thai person so I cannot speak for the authenticity, though.

The shrimps in the noodle are not properly deveined, which makes me a little unhappy as it is meant to be a +$4 extra for the shrimp. My noodle itself cost $12. It is a little little bit more expensive compared to some other Thai restaurants in the town given the amount of noodles in the bowl, but I think the friendly dine-in service deserves it.

The food was fantastic and the service was top notch. I’m not sure what the brown sauce is made from but it’s the best I have ever tasted. We ended up pouring it on almost everything.

This place is in my top 3 of Thai places in Pittsburgh
