My puppy is sick and so I stopped in for a bite to eat while the vets take care of him.

The first and most important thing I can say about this restaurant is that it is clean, well maintained, and that the owner is clearly very involved and cares a lot. There's a review a few spots below this that someone stood at the greeter stand to be seated and no one showed up. Well, they had a button installed. If no one is there, please press the button. That is an owner who cares and that's amazing to see.

I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich and fries with a side of ranch. Needed some comfort food and it hit the spot. The tomatoes were crisp, the lettuce was green and fresh, the roll itself was very nice. The actual chicken filet was a bit on the small side for the roll, and I think I might have preferred some more buffalo sauce - BUT this item is in the menu as a wrap (or on a roll) so I think maybe it's more well portioned as a wrap. Still, I'd order it again. It was very good. The fries were served crispy and hot, and their ranch is very high quality.

The table I sat at was exceptionally clean, the greeters and servers were very friendly. When my drink was 3/4 empty the server showed up with a refill before I requested. I appreciated that a lot.

All in all a 5 star experience, if you're looking for some comfort food or a nice place to get some food or drink with family and friends, I highly recommend Sunny Jim's.

If I am in the area my wife and I stop here for some food! Been coming here for a while and most of your food is excellent! This Sunday (4/13/2025) my wife and I stopped here and I ordered your classic 4 piece chicken ( basket) dinner! The portion I got was great but the breading on this chicken had( no taste ) what so ever! I was glad I got the chicken gravy for my fries as I dipped my chicken in it to get some taste out of this meal! If this has been your classic for decades you could have fooled me and maybe you had an off day! You should offer this chicken smoked like your wings and then it would be awesome! I assure you that my taste buds were fine and I have eaten many fried chicken dinners and my review still stands ! This was an insult to me to say basically I DIDN,T KNOW WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT! A Pittsburgh Salad is a Pittsburgh Salad because of the French fries! I ordered 2 salads from them. A steak salad and a salmon salad. These were supposed to be Pittsburgh style salads and neither one of them came with French fries. When I called the restaurant they were unwilling to help. Don't go here, save your money. If you wanna real pittsburgh salad make sure it's gonna have french fries on it.

The beer-battered fish was amazing! This was a Friday evening so it was quite busy. Our witness was a bit slow and didn't do many rounds to check on us. She did get our drinks and took our order promptly. After that, it was quite a wait for our food. It was worth it. The food was cooked perfectly. The atmosphere was pleasant. Quite shuffle of people talking and eating. With multiple tvs with every sport on you could imagine. Lighting was decent though by the bar was darker. Set up in the bar area was slot machine. Just over all nice place to dine.

Great place for fish. We were visiting Pittsburgh on a weekend and looking for a place to eat. It happened to be a Friday during Lent, so it was actually good that a few places offered a menu for Lent specials. We choose to go to Sunny Jim's and we weren't disappointed. We had the Provolone Wedges and Lobster Bisque to start, both were very good. For our dinner we had the Fish sandwich with fries and the Fish & Chips..again, very delicious. The best fish we have experienced in a while and as their sign says " The Best Fish in Town ". We certainly agree with that claim, even though we haven't gotten it from anywhere else in Pittsburgh. We dined in the bar and Patrick was nice and attentive to our needs. Wr definitely recommend Sunny Jim's and will come back when in Pittsburgh.

Casual, FSA is as rated. Check this place out, I'm picky, when it comes to price, service, quality. This is a restaurant to check out when you're looking for a laid back experience with sandwiches, salad, appetizers, ice tea , soft drink, beer, etc. mostly 27 to folks age group of older folks who know a good deal and quality items on the menu. Gotta say one of best secrets i
n surrounding area of your looking for a rather laid back and well behaved place to get together with friends and family.

I didn't think I was gonna like Sunny Jim's, but they really won me over. The food shows an amazing attention to detail. They are clearly dedicated to making American classics with heart. The waitstaff is patient. The whole place is spotless. I went back on a Friday to pick up some wings and was unsurprised to see the place was packed.

Oldest bar in Pittsburgh. Really surprised at the upgrade they made. Amazing food. Great service, reasonable prices, good portions. Can't wait to eat there again.
