I was introduced to Mill Creek Farm and the farm director a few months ago. I was extremely impressed by his knowledge and commitment to getting fresh affordable food to the Philadelphia community. Majority of my produce is purchased at their farmer’s markets, which take places on Wednesday from 12 - 4 at the corner of 52nd Street & Haverford Avenue and on Saturday From 11 - 2 at Mill Creek Farm. I have been consistently volunteering at the farm and learning more farm techniques every chance I get. If you are free then come on down to the farm for a tour, to volunteer, or just relax and talk with Alkebu-lan (keeper of the land) and members of the community. The produce is chemical free and super affordable.

I live up the street from the farm. Im from Boston, MA so coming across Mill Creek farm is a very new experience for me. I love organic produce and love to know where my food comes from. Its so great to be able to meet the people growing the produce. The vegetables are amazing and full of flavor. The workers are very thorough and inspired by their own work and helping with the community. Everyone is friendly and its a great place to go and visit.

They have been a staple in their community for years. There was some racial politics that got in the way of their mission, when certain white individuals were brought in to change things against the will of the community, but once this was voiced by the community, they got rid of certain problematic decision makers and replaced them with better qualified, more educated and more diverse staff. Their Head Farmer is also new and way more knowledgeable and qualified to run and manage their operations. They have all sorts of awesome tech knowlege in their arsenal of education and newly manifested access to high end hydroponics and agricultural equipment + upgrades, that they have never had access or training with before. I can see this place producing lots of lovely produce for the community as well as hosting all sorts of children's and family events centered around nutrition, nature, science education and community engagement.
