I worked with Shawn to build a 3 horse shed row barn with paddocks and it was an excellent experience - professional, knowledgeable, quality work, and great communication. My barn is exact to plan. I have worked with other barn builders in Sonoma County and Shawn is by far better in every regard. I highly recommend Bay Area Hay & Feed and I cannot say enough good things about them for your livestock needs.

Called, they said they had matting in good condition that was black. Double checked: yes black, specially no speckles. Drive more than an hour, in traffic, they are in horrid condition, there is bird seed all over, it’s filthy and the mats are stored outside, they’re beat up, and have white speckles, as in: not fully black. They’re so dirty and beat up, and not what they said they were, that I’m not driving another 90 min to pick up mats elsewhere.

Definitely go elsewhere, do not waste your time.

I recently had cross tie posts and fencing installed, to my exact specifications. Nice people, quality products, good prices, quick turnaround, and drama free installation. 10/10 will use again

Disappointed. I've been buying hay for years, this was the first time I was charged so much in tax. For 1 bale of hay I paid $30 because he decided to charge me 42% tax. Clearly, this man doesn't need my business because he already has a racket going with his existing clients. I will never shop here again. It's never a good feeling to feel like you got ripped off

I can't recommend this place enough. I am so thankful for Sean. He was kind, patient and very knowledgeable about chicks. Bay Area Hay and Feed was also organized and well stocked. He took the time on multiple occasions to describe the variety of chicks and surprisingly during the chick craze had chicks in stock. They are also vaccinated with Mereks! He was able to tell me which chicks would be coming the following weeks. I preordered some chicks and am excited to get them next week. Although this store is about 40 minutes from me, I will be a life long customer. Thank you!

I wish I could give less than a star. Sean wasn’t cordial or welcoming when we went to buy chicks last week. We being first time buyers expected Sean to help us choose, as per other reviews posted here. But our experience was opposite to what we saw here. He seemed to be upset with his helper as well!

I have gone here for years to purchase my chickens. Owner has always been friendly and very knowledgeable. Even explained which chickens would not work together in my flock. Was just great all around to work with.

Bay Area Hay and Feed was my go-to place when i lived in Livermore, as they always had great hay. I recently moved to the Valley and can't find anything that compares so i am stocking up. The owner is always pleasant and helpful. A great small business!
