Communication is TERRIBLE. My boyfriend and I placed an order for silkie chicks back in April/May; we paid the deposit and was told the chicks would be available in June for pick up. Come June we started asking when they would be ready and for one it was a nightmare even trying to get ahold of someone. Come July we had asked again and they said they would be ready soon; well now it’s August and when we reached out a final time after getting our refund declined by them TWICE (they state refunds would be available if chicks are not received within 30 days); they told us they would be ready for pickup “soon”. Well at this point we don’t want to raise chicks when by the time we can put them out it’s going to be just about winter. I’ll be sure to let everyone know these people are a scam.

edit to add to the reply- you stated originally that they would be ready for pick up in June, it wasn’t until he started calling and emailing in July for our money back that you said they would be ready. A week from July 22 would put as at 8/30 which is much later than we were promised- therefor we can no longer take them. And the prior orders were never officially placed as he hadn’t sent in the deposits because we were looking around. But we made the mistake of going through this place. Not to mention how rude and unprofessional the owner is

I purchased 4 beautiful hens. Adam was great at communicating with me throughout the reservation process as well as leading up to pick up. He was always happy and eager to answer any questions I had as a first time chicken owner. All the hens he showed me seemed happy and healthy, and the ones I picked so far are doing great. He had such a wide variety of colors to choose from that it was hard to pick which ones I liked best! So far I'm in love with my hens and would definitely recommend Sheeran Farms to anyone looking for silkie hens.

We've purchased silkies on 2 separate occasions now. Beautiful hens all healthy and happy. They've made great additions to our flock. Adam was super nice and very helpful. If we get more silkies we'll be coming back here for sure!

We absolutely love our Silkies from Adam at Sheeran Farms! We first purchased chicks, and they were healthy and vigorous. We just added new Sheeran hens to our flock and they are absolutely gorgeous and sweet-tempered. Adam is great at communication and flexible for arranging pickup. He also sells feed, shavings, and oyster shell for reasonable prices. So glad to have Sheeran Farms for all of our Silkie needs!

I would like to suggest that Mr. Metcalf explain in his email responses that he only has availability by appointment and not business hours. He gave me availability for the day 11-5p which appeared to me as "business" hours. A miscommunication. I said I would be there at 3 however, was late do to traffic, construction, etc. and lost my appointment after driving 2 hours.

Update: in response to Adam Metcalf's reply to my review... Mr Metcalf, you told me, in person, while I was standing in your driveway that you gave roosters away for free - that you "have so many" you dont know what to do with them all. When I realized less than a month after bringing my silkies home, that one was a rooster I emailed you immediately. I sent you photos, I described his behavior and you dismissed me and my claim as if I was ill-informed. You mansplained chicken behavior then told me to wait to hear a crow and send video proof. Within days I heard the crow and sent video with audio proof.
You confirmed in a prior emails (which I am happy to share with google reviews) that you do in fact give roos away but you couldn't prove I was being honest. This was AFTER I sent video/audio proof and you AGREED the "hen" I purchased from you was in fact a roo.
When it was clear you made a mistake, I believe you sighted your policy as a way to deflect that mistake onto me. I did everything exactly as you asked. You made the mistake, innocent as it was, it was still your mistake. You have no right to accuse me of anything but refusing to send back a roo which, according to your mouth & emails, I could have for free.
FWIW: One of my silkies had nails 4'' long, she could hardly walk. His response to that was "they dont need their nails clipped". Needless to say she's walking fine now.

I question the owner’s moral compass. He made a mistake and did not honor his word. We were very upset by his dismissive and accusatory response. I do not believe he values his birds or his customers.
