Zero stars would be better. Steak tips were absolutely inedible. There were multiple pieces that were all fat. Seeing company chewing and spitting out pieces was an embarrassment.
I should have known when the salesperson selling them didn’t even know the difference between a sirloin steak and tips. Nice mother’s day dinner. Would not recommend at all. $17.99 /lb for fat

This place used to be higher quality and a huge asset for the neighborhood. Since new ownership has taken over, it has gone downhill. Staff are icy at best, meat products are suspect and today I walked in to see them unpacking bags from Market Basket to stock on the shelves. Would only recommend in a pinch.

We haven’t bought from k and 8 in a couple years since we moved out of southie but this used to be our spot for cookout supplies. We bought the burgundy tips today and they tasted sour / chemically. We threw out all 2lbs of meat. $37 wasted.

The best meat in Boston! Their steak tips are fantastic and now have a small but good wine selection. It isn't a big store, but the quality is outstanding and staff is friendly and helpful. I can never go back to ground beef from a super market after tasting theirs!

Local business with an excellent meat and fish selection. I recommend the marinated steak tips, but they also have good house-made sausage. Also a small selection of produce and dry goods. And a surprising amount of wine. On the more expensive side for meat, but well worth it.

My husband and I have bought steak here twice in the past two months, and both time we have gotten home only to notice it smells rancid and has a slimy film on it. It's too bad but it seems this place has gone downhill and I don't see us returning.

Has the basics when you run out. Decent selection of wine--the beer selection doesn't change much. Deli has fresh cuts of meat and fish. Small but pretty good selection of produce. No gourmet or organic options. Friendly staff.

Amazing local hidden market in South Boston. All I have to say is steak tips! They have among the best tips I've ever tried including their Bourbon and Italian marinated tips. They also have a great selection of scallops, homemade sausage, local produce, and fresh bread. Definitely worth driving out of the way for.
