Crazy space. The Slipper Clutch doesn't have any outdoor signage, the bar exists behind another space that you walk through to get to it. You can sort of see the interior sign from the street if you look. The guy bouncing the place next door seemed really used to answering the question of Where is the slipper clutch!
Inside there are like three or four bar areas with totally different vibes. The first area is more high class, fancy night bar. Through the door is another bar that's more punk rock, has arcade games and pool tables. It's kinda small but decent. They have a back patio too. The patio door was open all night so the place smelled of smoke from the outdoor smokers. If you keep going and go upstairs, you'll find the venue area with yet another bar. The music up there stays loud as heck so it kind of always sounds like a band is playing even when it's just the interstitial music. For the show I went to, bands didn't start playing until almost an hour and a half after the listed time, so definitely don't come early if you're just coming to rock. Tickets were cash only at the door, but it was only $7 - prices we ain't seen in decades! The music space itself is pretty decent, the stage is kinda small but it gets the job done. The room is pretty spacious and there was plenty of room for a bunch of people but also room to get away from the wild ones if you needed. There's also a very tiny upstairs patio (more like a ledge) but good to get some air. Pretty decent overall experience. I don't think they had food there but I didn't really look. Didn't see anybody eating anything tho! There are only two tables, outside on the patio. Otherwise it's bar or standing. Definitely not wheelchair accessible.

This is a bar a really like coming back to. They've got pool, pacman, and pinball. However, the most recent time I went one of the female bartenders made a drink for my friend and then gave it to someone else. This would have been remedied if she had checked up on us again (we were still waiting by the bar) but she completely forgot about my friend and did not come back up.

I can't really say much about the food; there's some snacks in the front but since the location is closed to grand central market you can find any and all noshing items there that you please. This place is an awesome music venue!! There is a third bar / stage on the top level, and gives you a very intimate performance experience. It's a very punk vibe upstairs, there's another bar and an outdoor patio area to smoke on, which has a great view. Also the folks running sound do a good job. My only quibble is that there are not really any good sights lines to the stage if you're sitting at the bar. You have to physically leave the bar and seating area in order to watch the stage. Maybe there should be a row of seating along the wall that faces the stage?

I’m not punk rock but I certainly felt more at home here than the bar in front. My friend and I are ex-goth girls and find it hard to find a bar with music we even remotely like. This place was like going back to our early 20s, kinda seedy, kinda rough, no fancy expensive drinks but it was a breath of fresh air compared to the cookie cutter, hip-hop playing bars that you usually find. We played Dolly Parton pin-ball and a Pac-man table top. I drank a Pabst and then a teeny tiny Highlife. Had it been our first stop of the night, we’ve have stayed longer but definitely going back for some old school fun!

The Grayson is such a cute bar and venue. They had 3 sections with 3 different kinds of music. When you go in, there's a lounge, then further in there's a bar, then upstairs there's a stage. It was a cool vibe. I really enjoyed the show upstairs at Slipper Clutch with the open stage by Empowerment in Heels, very entertaining! Be prepared to tip the dancers at the Open Stage. They can also make change so you can make it rain $$$

It's a bar alright with a very tiny stage. It's upstairs in what looks (and smells) like a very vintage DTLA building.
Pretty good except that the smoking all around (Smoking is allowed in the outdoor patios on the sides and below) filters into the space from outside and you end up inhaling a lot of second hand smoke which is unacceptable. Please fix that and then maybe I'll go back.
