We haven’t been here in years. We were craving authentic Chinese food. The food was better than we remembered and the waitress was great!

Not sure what’s occurring with the poor attitudes lately. I believe the staff has gotten complacent. Not friendly at all. I get the greedy money vibes. This place used to be one of my favorite places. I’m so getting over it. Poor customer service! CHECK YOUR TAKE OUT PRIOR TO LEAVING.. their most likely to challenge you for there mistakes vs just apologizing and making things right..

I'm from the South Shore where great Chinese restaurants are in abundance. This My second time here and was very disappointed with the food. I paid for an order of egg rolls that weren't included in my order. The beef lo mein was terrible. Tasted more like chow mein made with flat noodles and to much celery. The shrimp fried rice was the highlight of the meal, which was seasoned well with plenty shrimp. The Mushrooms in Oysters sauce tasted like RUBBER. Unfortunately I won't be back.

I have been a loyal customer of Gumbos for nearly 20 years, visiting at least twice a month, sometimes even three times. However, my recent experience has left me deeply disappointed.

Last week, I placed an order for a combination plate, which typically includes pork fried rice. Upon returning home, I noticed the fried rice was missing from my order. Inconvenienced, I drove 25 minutes back to the restaurant in the rain, only to park down the street and walk to the counter.

When I explained the issue to the woman at the takeout counter, she insisted that my order did not include pork fried rice. I had paid $31.50 for the meal, which included sweet and sour shrimp priced at $13.85, with an additional charge to replace the egg roll with more shrimp, and order a small house fried rice. Despite paying well over the standard price for this meal, I was told I would need to pay an additional $13.00 for the missing fried rice!

What surprised me most was the lack of care or assistance from the staff. Even the owner’s wife, who was present at the counter, made no effort to resolve the situation or address my concerns. Instead, I was left feeling dismissed and unvalued as a long-time customer.

I have never written a negative review about any business, but this experience was unacceptable. The poor customer service and unwillingness to address the mistake have completely turned me off from this establishment. Finally, a young girl from the kitchen gave me a small container of rice. The women at the counter just walked away and said nothing.

Beware when ordering your food from them.

Unfortunately, I can NO LONGER recommend Gumbos.

Every time I go into this place they seem to give me a look of attitude, charge for soy sauce & duck sauce, and are not specific in price on their receipts. Sorry, but I'm done w/ this place! There are just as good food at other chinese restaurants, but much better hospitality and respect! I'll pray for them.

Best Chinese food in town. Part of my local restaurant rotation. Favorites include General Gau's, Pu Pu platter, Gumbo Delight B with the crab Rangoons, Pork fried rice and chow main sandwich. Joke with the staff that I've eaten so much Gumbos that I'm becoming part Chinese. Great local business to support.

Typical Chinese fare. I frequent GUMBO. The food is always good and fresh. The regular staff are great. Some leave a little to be desired. But no real complaints

It's become one of the most consistently good Chinese restaurants in the area. They get a little too busy as a result but you really can't beat a restaurant with consistent quality takeout.
