Called for advice on our two cattle dogs. The woman who answered was happy to give me some information and a good place to reach out to for training. I could tell she was in the middle of working on something and she didnt have time for the niceties. She was all facts, all honesty to the max and that's exactly the kind of person I need when handling difficult breeds. I saved the number and I would trust them any day to handle any issue with my dogs.

My heeler was in need of some obedience training--particularly around livestock. Options are limited in CO, but I gladly make the trip to Terra Norte from Denver to train my pup here. Val is super knowledgeable and cares deeply about you, your dog, and what you need to get out of the sessions. In just a couple sessions, my dog's obedience and confidence around livestock has greatly improved. My stock sense has improved, as well!

I purchased a German Shepherd puppy from RANCHO TERRA NORTΓ‰. She was smart. Good temperament. Easily trained. Loyal, beautiful, great with my children. A precious companion. She came home as a pup with worms and Giardia. No big deal, and treatable. But at the age of 8.5 y, a scan showed the starting of Intervertebral Disk Disease. By 8 y 10 mo, she had developed a severe case of lumbosacral stenosis, a condition caused by degeneration in a transitional vertebra, an 8th lumbar vertebra that the neurologist said is a genetic abnormality and can only be stopped if the breeder does not breed a dog with the condition. Due to the IDD, she was not a good candidate for back surgery on the lumobsacral stenosis. Despite daily pain management attempts, we had to put her down at only 9 y 1 mo old in July. I know the life span of a GSD is only around 10 - 12 years, but to lose her at 9 years old due to a genetic abnormality that could have been avoided was absolutely crushing. She was still so young and had so much life in her. I would say to make sure your pup has scans to discover whether it has this defect. And to RANCHO TERRA NORTΓ‰, please have your adults scanned for this condition before breeding. Temperament was amazing, but I wish this condition could have been avoided... πŸ™
