Great location downtown and close to the free bus stop. Beds are comfortable and it is dog friendly which is great. Has lost the welcoming charm it had a few years ago and lobby now filled with vending machines for snacks. Free coffee in the morning was great. Hot tub was good and is covered for when it snows.

Luckily we were able to get a room here when the place we had originally booked was a disaster. The staff at the Nordic Lodge was amazing and so friendly! Wonderful location, clean rooms and delicious coffee available for you in the morning. I will definitely stay here again!

We were only able to book a standard 2-Queen room since they were nearly sold out (completely sold out when we arrived, so book early). The standard room was compact, but they make great use of the space - having microwave/fridge/counter space was really helpful. Good TV, comfy beds, everything was clean.||Prices were slightly high because it was Winter Carnival weekend, but not outrageous for this town.||Front desk staff (both shifts) was great.||The WiFi was pretty unreliable, long periods where it was impossible to connect, or we could connect but the router would be hung. They did reboot the router for us once which helped for about half a day. We've stayed here for years, and bad WiFi just seems to be part of the "charm" of the place, so just plan to use your cell phone.||The only other downside was only one chair for the little dining table, so we couldn't really sit down to eat together.

We love the Lodge. We stayed there recently with some friends for the Winter Carnival. The Front Desk staff are always super friendly. It’s conveniently located near a bus stop, which makes getting around town easy. It’s also near some of our fav restaurants and bars.

First of all, the front desk guy was very rude. Not sure of his name but he was a bald guy. Seemed very bothered by me asking if I could check in before the owner of the reservation and answered "No" before I even fully asked. Then had to pry out of him that she would be able to call and tell him I was checking in first. He then told me that we only get 1 parking spot but any other car could go out front and not get a ticket. I did exactly what he asked but then was greeted with a $50 ticket on my windshield the next morning. I went to ask the same front desk guy about it and he said, "Oh, I didn't know they did that." Then why are you telling people to park there? Very annoying that he is the only reason I got a $50 ticket when I easily could've found somewhere else to park that didn't ticket! Definitely wont be staying here again. Terrible customer service.

We love staying here every time we visit Steamboat. The new owners have made significant improvements on the rooms. Hot tub could use a little TLC but it was still a lovely soak after spending a day in the snow. Walking distance to everything as well being right on the bus line. We'll definitely be back!

Excellent location & plenty of free parking. Cheerful staff that is always available and eager to help. The room was fine, though most definitely low grade economy finishes, such as a 60’s vinyl couch, deeply soiled carpets, high intensity, super bright white ‘shop’ grade lights. Puzzled why they didn’t purchase soft white bulbs that cost the same & are exactly the same energy efficiency? The towels & bedding were good, seemed clean & fresh. Hot water went out, but they fixed it immediately which was quite impressive! The ‘grounds’ were all blacktop & cement, not a twig of anything green, felt like an army barracks. All things considered, it was fine, especially the exceptional location. However, I’d absolutely NOT ever stay there again because they do not offer courtesy luggage storage!! In 45 years of traveling all over the world , from super premium to sometimes |in very low end economy 1stars I’ve always been offered courtesy luggage storage for those few hours after check out till an afternoon flight. I’m still in shock as I write this, I cannot fathom any lodging NOT offering a few hours of luggage storage. All I got for a response, was a cheerful, ‘ that’s just how it is ‘ with a lovely smile. Then a suggestion to bring all of my luggage to the mountain and store it there!! Or rent the room for another $300!!!!! With my head spinning and feeling that they just ruined my experience, I thought … ‘ I’m guessing another hotel that is truly managed by people who literally do feel that actual hospitality takes many forms, might, just might, offer me this courtesy … even if I was not staying there?’ So I went to the motel next door ‘the Western’ and asked! Half expecting a sweetly delivered ‘no’ i was THRILLED, when the Western manager, Tammy, ENTHUSIASTICALLY said, “ of course, yes! It’ll be my pleasure”. I was absolutely shocked with joy!!! Her eagerness to help me with what was an unprecedented profound disappointment with the Nordic’s complete disregard for true hospitality was transformative!! I was so excited by Tammy’s / the Western response, that I cannot wait to stay there!! ,
