While skiing in Steamboat, this restaurant came highly recommended by everyone I met. When I go to a steakhouse my go to choice is a ribeye but everyone recommended getting the prime rib here and I have to say, I echo that sentiment. The prime rib was perfectly cooked and the sides were excellent. We also had the baked brie and ribs for appetizers and they were very delicious as well. The service was also incredible as the entire waitstaff was very attentive. Highly recommend this restaurant if you need a dining option in Steamboat!

Me and my family recently took a trip to Colorado and were in the Steamboat area. We were looking for a place to eat and ran across Ore House online. The menu looked tasty so we thought we would try it out. And I am glad we did. It was hands down the best meal I had while in Colorado.

Before I get into the food, I love how friendly the staff was. When we came in the hostess greeted us and she was very friendly. They are pretty busy so reservations are recommended unless you are cool dining at the bar. We ended up dining at the bar and I am glad we did because the bartender was so friendly. He offered great conversation and gave us tips on other places to check out in the area.

We asked him for sweet tea which wasn't on the menu, but he made it sweet for us. We are ladies from the south who love our sweet tea. The bar tender knew the menu we'll and was able to answer our questions about what is on the menu and any special requests.

I ordered the grilled Rocky Mountain ruby red trout, baked potato (with all the fixings to the side), and steamedbbroccoli with their special cheese sauce on the side. My mom ordered the sirlon with a baked potato and steamed broccoli. While we waited for our food we were told to grab a salad from the salad bar. Everything was fresh and there was a lot of variety of items to put on your salad. When we came back to our seats from the salad bar, the bar tender also brought us over some warm bread and cinnamon rolls.

We really enjoyed our meal and the customer service experienced in Colorado. Going to the Ore House felt very welcoming and I would recommend this resturant to anyone in steamboat. I will definitely be back during future trips.

Ore House is always on the itinerary when we visit steamboat. I love the fact they have a salad bar (90’s nostalgia!) and the steak is delicious every time.

I love the blackened option on their Prime Rib, it’s like it gives the chef permission to put a lot of delicious SALT on the sides of the steak and give it that extra hit of whatever seasoning they use that really makes it go.

I love the cinnamon bun, which is quirky. The place has got personality, and the menu and the food is just so insistently “we are going to do steak how we like it” because we know it tastes good and we don’t care if it means putting crab meat on the steak it’s just better that way. It’s a steakhouse with personality, what’s not to love about that.

Reminds me a lot of steamboat. Good people, good food, casually served. Love it.

We had such a hard time getting our party of 9 (including 3 kids) a reservation in town. Ore house took us immediately and we got to sit in a very cute upstairs area right next to the fireplace. Service was wonderful and drinks were always full. Most of us had the redfish which was great. The French dip was excellent and the price rib is a must try - probably could’ve been cut using just with a fork and it melted in your mouth. Definitely recommend!

Great food. Order prime rib , house potato, broccoli, and came with a salad bar. Ordered crab cakes appetizer and manhattan for a beverage. All were absolutely lovely seasoned perfectly made well. I would skip out on the “add crab and bearnaise sauce for $10” the crab tastes like can crab and is also shredded not lump. Not the tastiest. But I moved it off to the side and enjoyed the meal otherwise. Adam was great and he actually took it off the bill despite not asking. Thank you! Will be back for the excellent surf and turf choices.

We are not just visitors but have a residence here as well. We were unpleasantly greeted by our waiter Will who was unwilling to accommodate us at all. ( My child has major allergies) I asked for my trout well done and he told me it’s thin enough that it would be cooked through and through. I smiled and said ok. When the food came it was medium and soft. We were a party of 6 and most of us ordered the steamed broccoli and all of it came out hard. I decided not to bring this up to the waiter and go straight to the manager privately. I didn’t even do it at the table because I wanted my family to have a good experience all considering.When I began explaining to the manager our experiences regarding the waiter Will and the broccoli and trout he seemed to want to accommodate us through the aggravated look on his face as well as the extreme cough he had turning to cough in his sleeve. He offered me a new fish and to fix all the broccoli. I decided not to move forward with any changes due to his coughing. They removed the fish from our bill. There was also a helper named Pedro that continued to laugh with Will in the background. The food was not the biggest disappointment. It was the condescending smiles from the waiter Will and Pedro that bothered me the most. Tip was included with a party of 6 so my guess is they weren’t worried about getting paid. So disappointing. This used to be our go to favorite restaurant.

Overall a nice dinner and environment. Our reservation was at 7:15 and they were sold out of baby back ribs and lobster when we arrived. They were also out of the draft beer I ordered. Hostess let us know that the table they had held for us was not available because the prior guests had not left yet. It was overall “ok” and we enjoyed our meal but was nothing to write home about. Loved the salad bar. Server was very friendly and prompt.

Love the atmosphere. We had a party of six and everyone was happy with their food. I recommend the “house potato”. They bring fresh cinnamon rolls before the food comes out which was an unexpected but pleasant surprise. Cheers.
