I had an absolutely delightful experience at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, and it’s an easy 5 stars from me! Walking into the shop, I was greeted by the irresistible aroma of fresh chocolate and a display that looked like a sweet-lover’s dream. The staff were warm and welcoming, happy to chat about their offerings and even let me sample a piece of their silky-smooth fudge—pure heaven!
I couldn’t resist trying their famous caramel apple, and it was hands-down the best I’ve ever had—crisp, juicy apple coated in a thick, buttery caramel and drizzled with rich milk chocolate. The truffles were another highlight; I grabbed a few dark chocolate ones, and they melted in my mouth with the perfect balance of bold flavor and creamy texture. Everything here feels handcrafted with love and top-quality ingredients.
The shop itself has a cozy, mountain-town charm, and after grabbing my treats, I stepped outside to enjoy the crisp Steamboat air under a sky full of twinkling stars—those Colorado nights are unreal, and it made the whole experience even sweeter. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory is a must-stop for a decadent treat. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

In the past I’ve really liked this place but the last time I went it was quite unfortunate for a number of reasons. I went with my family to get ice cream. The selection was poor, the service was rather rude and unfriendly and when I did get my ice cream, supposedly butter pecan, it tasted like vanilla with some pecans in it. My sister also said her salted caramel didn’t taste like salted caramel. I ordered a single scoop waffle cone and a kids cone and it cost over $10 for extremely subpar ice cream. I don’t think I’ll be coming back here.

Lovely little chocolate shop. Lady was very courteous and helpful. She was very patient with us, since we look a while to decide what we wanted. They had all kinds of chocolate, limited ice creams selections, and candy apples. Three of our group got candy apples. I would’ve too, but they use green apples for the candy apples. Bummer, I only like red apples, green apples taste sour to me. BUT I did want some ice cream. It’s in the lower 40’s outside, but I didn’t care. I wanted a waffle cone with butter pecan ice cream, and that’s what I got; 2 scoops. She packed the waffle cone full and then added two large scoops on top. Yum Yum, it was very good. Also, on a cool note; she used an apple slicer to cut the candy apples into slices. That’s a first, and brilliant! Not near as messy with eating your normal uncut candy apple.
The whole time, the lady remained patient and answered any questions we had. Even when one of us used a lot of change to pay for an Apple, she was still thankful and helpful. Everyone loved the candy apples and the ice cream was very good as well.
Prices weren’t too bad. Apples were $6.5-$8ish each, my two scoops of ice cream was around $6 I think.

Nice little chocolate shop on main street that has a nice selection of sweets that seemed to be reasonably priced for the area. Lady working there was very helpful and nice. Tried a few items and enjoyed them all with the peanut butter finger being my favorite. Shop was well maintained and clean. Overall good place to get your sweet tooth fix.

Cashier was unable to complete a simple credit card transaction or be kind on the phone when we asked if they were open due to a padlock on the door. Was hoping to get several items before we left for the airport but she was unable to provide any service since she wasn’t able to operate a cash register. This wasn’t our first stop here but sad we will never stop here again.

I had a really good time coming in here with my sister, the candy apple we got was tasty, and the service was great. The girl who helped us was really nice and we made sure to drop a tip on the "college fund".

Lovely shop with a great variety of chocolates. Store was impeccable. Sassy Cecelia, behind the counter, is the perfect chocolate ambassador. Among the nicest chocolate shops ever.
