They are open for the 2024 season starting 9/8/24 9am! We went right at opening and there were already a lot of people waiting to enter. There are parking across the fence along the entrance north and south entrance. If there’s no parking on the side of the road, don’t worry and actually keep driving to go around the back. There is a large parking lot and another entrance there! It might be faster to enter that way than the front anyways. They also have portable bathrooms at the entrance if you need.

It is $5 for entrance and $15 for a bag. They take both card and cash. You don’t have to get a bag if you want to share one bag for the group. The bags are paper bags so be careful and maybe have a shopping bag in your car so you could transfer them when you get back in your car (of course don’t bring it to the actual Apple picking). It is dog friendly so bring your fur child~

Although they just opened today, the Gravensteins were all gone as those ripen early August. So skip rows 20 and 25. They have nothing on the trees. There were plenty of the other types though (Jonathan, empire, golden delicious and pippin).

I feel the bag has gotten smaller than before but I counted 26 apples when I got home. Of course they are of various sizes but it was 6 per row that could fit in the bag.

Was turned away cause my family didn’t buy an apple bag. The lady at the front originally said it’s fine if we buy just admission, but the guy forced us to buy a bag. No where does it say you HAVE to buy a bag. The lady also said we should only taste the ones with specs or blemishes. Horrible customer service with a racist attitude. When we were leaving, the guy followed us and looked down on us at the other entrance as well. Do not come!! Apples are small and owners are so petty.

This was a fun outting! The price when we went was $5 per person and $15 per bag. Kids under 5 free. We picked so many apples. We came home and made an apple pie. The apple tastes so good fresh. I will be back next year, too!

Best U Pick apple orchard I’ve been to in SoCal! They were so friendly when we arrived and let us know where to find the different varieties and welcomed us to taste test! The trees were full despite being the last day of U Pick, so we were pleasantly surprised. It was easy to find larger apples compared to other places I’ve been, and the orchards were labeled and easy to navigate. It was $5 to enter and $15 per bag which fit a lot of apples. It was a great deal and overall great experience. I highly recommend you check it out!

We had a fun family day in the Julian area and spent part of it at Vulcan Valley Apple Farm wandering the orchard and collecting a bag of apples. Entry is only $5. A good way to start Fall.

Got here 30 minutes after opening time and the parking lot was filling up quickly. The people were friendly and the check in experience was quick. There were plenty of apples to choose from. The higher the incline, the less people around. We spent 1 1/2 hours here.

What a great experience for a family and kids. The drive to this apple farm is absolutely fantastic, winding through Southern California mountains. The apple orchard is ten sprawling acres of perfect rows with multiple types of apples. Very easy to park, if parking is jammed up as you enter the property just continue around to the other side, there is a gate on either side of the orchard.

Easy drive from San Diego, and definitely a must do family activity during September and early October.

Great place for family time or date!! Apple picking berry picking and pumpkin picking for the family and a nice Winery with live music snacks and great food for the date. Can't wait till I go again. Downside is that it does get a bit busy also it's a bit pricey to walk around picking your own fruit $12 a bag Oct/2018
