Go to for the best flour be it specialty flour small and professional sizes of products. Nice thoughtful assortment of baking books. If you are serious about baking there is no other place to shop.

I love this place. A friend who is a professional baker turned me on to them. I have been baking bread for the last 7 years or so, and I am not the best at sourdough because I sometimes lack patience. But when I use this flour, my bread is always at least edible, if not delicious. Plus I like that they are local (ish, to me) and organic and I think they must be sustainable. Plus the flour is amazing. When I order for delivery to my house, it is still less per pound than buying bulk flour from a natural foods store. Thank you Central Milling Co! I love you guys!!!

Decided to restart my sourdough starter. Was excited to find that Central milling was local enough for me to pick up kamut, einkorn and spelt flours. The storefront is really sweet and was fun to explore.

Screaming deals on excellent flours. I used to get regular Artisan Baker's Craft and regular AP, but I recently branched out into Craft Special and the Beehive AP (malted versions), and I have much better results with my SD. Better rises and faster fermentation. I find I have to feed my starters more often, tho b/c they run out of food faster w/ the added malt. The Type 00 is fantastic for pizza. I also get 5lb bags of various grinds or ww so I try to find my perfect loaf. So many options I can't get anywhere locally. Their processing to delivery time is ridiculously fast. I'd say order date to delivery is about 4 or 5 days which is plenty fast for me. Shipping can be spendy, but it's heavy stuff so I don't really care; It's absolutely worth it for the quality and selection. A pretty decent website too. Can't recommend them enough!
