First time here tonight and it was my wife's birthday 🎂 so I decided to come here because I have heard the pies are good. Boy we're they right!! But the only bad part is that people don't talk about how good the food is too !!! We had the deal for two people where it included an appetizer which the spinach dip was so good we ate it all! And then the works Frisco burgers on sourdough were just phenomenal by then I was stuffed but I couldn't resist the slice of pies it also came with. I was in heaven man I will come here often especially how nice our server Ellie was she was very sweet and on point thank you MC for a great experience on a Wednesday my wife loves it too

We came in thinking we’re gonna have breakfast. They told us it would be 30 minute wait then it was 45 minutes. Talk to somebody to see what’s going on. They said they’re backed up in the kitchen then an hour and five minutes because we really want to have breakfast here. Their pancakes are amazing, then I went to talk to another person and she gave me attitude saying that the manager has not available so we waited an hour and 15 minutes and everyone told us different things ridiculous .

I am very disappointed with the pies I bought for the holiday. The bananas in the Banana Cream pie were brown when we cut into it. The Peach pie crust was soggy and stuck to the pan, and the Key Lime was a melted mess. It seemed as if these pies had been sitting for some time. It was embarrassing to serve these pies. This has never happened before. I will get my pies elsewhere from now on.

We stopped into the Visalia Marie Callender's after a long absence. We were seated at 7:30 for dinner. My wife and I were the only customers. (That should have been a warning.) One other customer drifted in while we were there. She seemed to be their sole regular as she visited with the other waitress for 20-30 minutes before ordering. (This had no impact on us. I just mention it to show how "dead" this location is.)

I had the sourdough meatloaf sandwich and my wife had the chicken pot pie. We both had the potato cream soup. Everything was bland. All the food required generous applications of salt, pepper, and Tabasco sauce to maintain our interest. This was very unusual for my wife. The food reminded me of convalescent hospital fair. The pies we both order were good.

Bland institutional food. I wonder how they stay open? My guess is that being the closest restaurant to the Tulare County court house gives them an innocent lunch crowd.

Black Bear Dinner a few blocks down Mooney also has pie and much better food. We will not be back.

By all measures, one of the worst dining experiences of my life. We were a party of two and were only given one menu. The person who ushered us to our table, was brusque and abrasive. As for the food, I had to hunt down staff for the ingredients to complete my sandwich since it was not made as described on the menu. The salad was old and limp, the dressing tasted like sparcely seasoned mayonnaise. About half way into our meal, the lights all went off and a series of very shrill alarms began to sound. Definitely not the experience anyone came for. It was so annoying that I packed half of my sandwich up with the intention of getting out of there, then was held hostage for ten minutes (yes, the alarms were still sounding) while everyone tried to figure out how to pay. As a business owner myself, I always try to compensate customers when things go wrong. Nothing was offered by way of compensation, not a discount, no free drinks, no slice of pie. A very poorly run operation, embarrassingly so.

Went there on a Sunday evening around 6:45pm. The restaurant side was pretty slow, so seating was easy to find. I used to work at Callender's in L.A., and always loved the cornbread and cheesy potato soup. I had that, and they brought back memories. Still tasting the same after all these years. As a main dish I ordered the shrimp and chicken carbonara. The plate was delicious and hearty. A good size plate that can possibly even be shared. Creamy and full of flavor. Waiter was pretty attentive. Overall, your typical American-style restaurant (not a bad thing). I'll have to come back to try more of their menu items.

To make a long story short, it’s Thanksgiving day and I purchased a personal Thanksgiving meal for two people and drove to the far corner of Tulare to find out that the order was wrong. Went to return the items and was given the correct items. The problem is Almost 2 hours of waiting and travel time plus gas. You would think that they would just let you keep the order that they gave you and replace it with a new one. But no. That’s the problem with businesses that don’t care about you. They don’t care that you had to drive far twice or that you had to spend money on gas twice And because of this I’m leaving a negative review about the company in Visalia. The food is great, but the service customer service was awful.
