The staff here sucks. I went out of my way to visit the store 40 minute before closing to get shabu shabu beef and the person working told us no more shabu shabu cut for the day just because they are too lazy to clean the machine again. Since we already had plans to cook shabu shabu for dinner that day, we ended up settling for the beef kiriotoshi which was very unappetizing, see photo. Thanks for ruining our dinner plans because of pure laziness.

The best quality meats you can get in NYC. We got sliced beef, pork and steaks. So far tried sliced meats and those are just amazing. Super friendly and polite staff. Highly recommend!

Japan Premium Beef is the best place for high quality beef, especially Wagyu beef.

Their service was amazingly friendly, supportive and helpful. I visited here without clear idea what I should get and explain with vague description but the staff was patient to introduce pros and cons of most of meat and what they served.

The beef was extremely delicious with reasonable price and I will definitely come back to try their beef tongue (reservation needed).

This place is great. I was at first intimidated by the fancy cuts so my first purchase was the hanger steak which was nice but not revelatory like what I got on my second visit. On this second visit for an anniversary dinner, I bought 0.44lb of the wagyu A5 NY strip and 0.71lb of the 45 day aged "Washyugu" (hybrid Wagyu and American cow from Oregon). These are totally worth it for a completely different steak experience than your everyday USDA Choice ribeye from Whole Foods. Even though the above weights add up to about 8oz per person for a two person dinner, the steaks are so rich and filling that we couldn't eat any of the other courses I had planned (I happened to start the dinner with just the steaks, no sides or apps). This is not a complaint but more to point out that for two people, about 0.25lb of A5 Wagyu each plus sides, an app, and a dessert will fill you up plenty, which makes Wagyu even at $130/lb much more affordable than you might have thought. So the steaks were great, and also the staff at the store are also super helpful. Also key were the YouTube videos the store has made that guide you through how to cook each type of steak. I followed them and the steaks came out perfectly.

Definitely great place for Japanese wagyu. But the piece I got was overwhelmingly rich and it tasted like a mouthful of fat. I would prefer a new slice of meat rather than the pre-cut next time.
