I met a friend today for lunch at the Afternoon Deli up in Grass Valley and I was very impressed with the quality of the food and service. The person at the counter was very friendly, the food was served quickly and hot, and my cheesesteak sandwich was very tasty! The price is very reasonable. I'm looking forward to trying some of the other items on their menu!

The cheapest lunch in town. They have a lot of vegatarian options and just a lot of options. Under $10 for a sandwhich and fries. Their meat is all natural and they have beer if you like to tie one on with lunch, as they close at three. The guy who works the register is on it. The owner's got lucky with this guy.

Ordered Afternoon Chicken Clubhouse ($10.25). Yum! My first time here and the service plus food are awesome! The sandwich was not skimpy on any ingredients (especially avocado!). Bacon is crispy and the chicken tender. French fries remind me of Give Guys. Slightly crispy but mushy on the inside. Very tasty.

Looks like they have burgers and gyros too. I’ll be coming back to try them soon!

This is the best spot for a pastrami rueben sandwich and they're open during all the construction next door except Sunday and Mondays. I also recommend the hibiscus tea ☺️

The "gyro" I ordered was a turkey burger patty cut up with a spoon. I will definitely go to MeZe next time. The owner was griping about parking lot being full of target customers and lost his temper. Not a good look.

Such a cozy atmosphere! So glad that the Afternoon Deli has vegan options. The vegan burger menu is very helpful. I would love to see a vegan sandwich menu posted as well. Sometimes, I don't feel like a burger and would like to order one of the sandwiches. However, they're only listed under vegetarian, so I'm not sure if the sauces on them or the bread they come on is vegan or not. Whenever I ask the staff member working the cash register these types of questions they are unsure. Would be awesome if this deli could make a special side menu for vegan sandwiches in addition to the burgers to make it easier for everyone!

The Afternoon Deli has the best food! My favorite is the Mezes & Pitas with a side of Falafel. Eating “a little of this and a little of that” is my favorite. Today I tried something new - a tuna melt with fries! The sandwich was too big to eat in one sitting, so I packaged up the other half and half the fries for tomorrow. So yummy!
