The Perry watermelon I bought last week at Costco San Jose was the best I’ve had in a long time. Just made a special trip back for another one. Can you eat too much watermelon?

This is the quintessential, family-run, side of the highway farmstand. They have everything for your roadtrip or your home for the week. Customer service is great, with the staff thanking us for supporting them. Stop in, grab a snack and visit small town America, even for a minute.

Excellent melons and produce. Neat assortment of dried fruits and nuts. But beware..... the kids at the register are trigger happy with the gun scanner. They charged me for a $7.95 box of nuts I did not purchase. Being I had four packages of nuts that were expensive and a watermelon, it wasn't until I was driving home I realized 8x4 plus 6 for the melon does not equal $50. I charged this and said I wanted a paper receipt. I was specifically asked if I wanted the receipt or should they discard it. That was what made me look at it as it appeared they were trying to cover something up. And it will cost more than 8 dollars to drive all the way back up there to try to complain. I am sure those boys would not fess up to it.

Stopped by to purchase a watermelon and found a small, cute fruit market. Picked my items and went to the counter where I found two male employees who obviously wanted to be anywhere but at work at that moment. I was made aware that there is a $0.50 charge to use a debit/credit card after my card was already ran. Employees could use some customer service training. Will stop by again to purchase a pie and hopeful to have a better experience next time.

My husband & I met one of the owners today (George III). He was very friendly. He took time to talk to us about the generations that have owned & started perry's market. He helped us pick out our melons. We like knowing that we support a family owned business.

Stopped by to buy a watermelon on my way back home from church in Ceres, Calif. I noticed Gale Perry's vehicle was there. So I went by the office to visit with her. I met her a couple of years ago on a harvest day. I met up with my son Tommy and one of my Grandchildren. It was good to see her again!
