This is a great independently owned nursery with very knowledgable people to help you and their prices are very affordable. A lot of beautiful drought friendly plants too. Well worth a visit.

I’d probably shop here if prices were slightly higher than other nursery options but since it’s slightly cheaper Bellefontaine is a no brainer if you live anywhere in the area. Why? Friendly, knowledgeable service provided by a small, local business that offers fair, competitive pricing.
What’s not there? Fancy merchandising, for one. No displays, no hard sell— walking through the nursery is to navigate a maze in search of treasure. And that’s the other thing: the selection is well curated but not vast. You could call it limited. There are natives but not like Theodore Payne. There are veggies but no like Armstrong.
But unless you seek a Whole Foods experience that leaves you inspired but exhausted, Bellefontaine Nursery has enough gems spread across its many micro-aisles to keep most gardeners sated.

Great nursery! Alan is friendly and super helpful! He found me some indoor plants I was looking for and let me know when they had them. Beautiful plants! Nice selection with good prices. I'll definitely be back. Highly recommend!

Dropped by this afternoon to pick up a small assortment of common house plants. Bellefontaine is really more geared toward landscaping and garden items, but the modest selection of indoor plants was absolutely perfect. The owners are also suuuuuper friendly, knowledgeable and helpful too. I already picked out items for my next visit.

Dale and Alan have been helpful every time i walk in. They are knowledgeable, friendly, and wouldn't recommend you buy something just because they want to sell you something. Instead, if a certain product is not necessary, they would tell you not to buy anything. That's some outstanding honesty going on there. The quality of the plants and pots are both high.

The owners two older brothers who are extremely knowledgeable so whenever I am looking for advice or ideas I come here first. I always recommend this place to new gardeners who move into the area. They will guide you to plants that are appropriate for your location and needs. A few times I have come here looking for specific plants and they warned me about a pest/disease/other problem in the area and then pointed out other options that were better suited locally. This has saved me from numerous gardening missteps, and you won't get this type of support from big nurseries or hardware stores. They don't have a huge inventory, but have always been able to order or deliver anything we have requested. Prices are a little high compared to big stores but about on par with Armstrong's. The quality, service and advice often outweigh the cost difference. I know there are lots of nursery options in the area, but this one is worth checking out.
