Received several obviously diseased plants in recent orders (a Vandaenopsis that quickly died from collar rot, and two Bulbophyllum that are tentatively recovering from bacterial spotting). Brookside has not responded to emails asking for a replacement/refund.

I am disappointed. Brookside used to be a good supplier, but sending out visibly diseased plants is unacceptable.

Quality seems to have gone broadly downhill. Like another review mentions, I found packing peanuts in one pot, and had to deal with a surprising amount of unhealthy roots/fungal growth in the pots.

I’ve placed multiple orders with them and had a very bad experience recently. I ordered an orchid on their in spike/bloom page which did not have any flowers, buds, or spikes. When I asked them for a replacement or refund they were rude and tried to place the blame on me. Clearly their quality and customer service is not what it used to be. I would not recommend them and will never be buying from them again. I’d recommend other online vendors such as Carmela Orchids or Akatsuka orchids which have been fantastic.

Gorgeous orchid plant, it shouldn’t be too long before it blooms. Brookside packaged it very carefully and it arrived quickly. Thank You!

I have purchased from Brookside many times both online and in person. Recently, while repotting, discovered two Brookside cattelyas were planted in Styrofoam packing peanuts for the lower half of the pot. Gross, cheap, and no wonder the plants kept drying out. Couldn't afford orchid bark? Or rocks? Expanded clay? For $40 a plant? Very disappointing. What do you have to say for yourselves?

I am hollering! My orchids arrived and they are HUGE. Look at the pictures! I know I ordered 4" pots and read the details of the miltoniopsis in spike. 2 spikes! 2! My laelia--huge! I don't think I even have a pot big enough for it. Awesome! Shipped in time. Very well-packed. My new favorite orchid seller.

Brookside has a great selection of orchids purchased online. They can ship to you or you can pick up at the store. The orchids are healthy and the price is reasonable. It is fun to visit the store to see what is available on a weekly basis. They also have a huge selection of mounted orchids in the store.

What happened? You used to be the go to place for unique orchids at reasonable prices. Stopped in the other day, and found nothing but terribly basic real estate open house orchids in two colors that were way too overpriced. Went to Trader Joe's and got twice the orchid for half the price. That orchid was only $17.99!! Sorry Brookside, I won't be back.
