Went here due to a close friends recommendation, good food, the tamarind margarita was a lot better than the house (and they replaced it for free Thank You 🙏🏼). The chicken strips and fries were delicious and chicken pieces were HUGE. The carnitas plate was large and delicious. The chips didn’t appear to be home made & could be improved. The prices are high but the portions are huge and service is GREAT .

If you’re in Palm Springs and craving authentic Mexican food, Armando’s Dakota Bar and Grill is an absolute must-visit! Conveniently located on the main strip, this vibrant restaurant came highly recommended during our stay at the JW Marriott Hotel and Spa while attending a real estate conference—and it did not disappoint.

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a lively, friendly atmosphere that instantly made us feel welcome. The outdoor patio dining option was especially enjoyable, offering great views of the bustling street and the beautiful Palm Springs weather. The service was outstanding—attentive, personable, and genuinely eager to make our experience unforgettable.

When it came to the food, everything we tried was packed with flavor. If you visit, don’t miss out on the table-side guacamole, which was freshly prepared to perfection, or the margaritas, which were some of the best we’ve ever had. For entrees, the Carne Asada and Chile Rellenos were exceptional and bursting with authentic Mexican flavors.

Beyond the food and service, the restaurant offers a great vibe for both casual meals and celebratory dinners. Whether you’re a local or visiting, Armando’s is the perfect spot for amazing food, lively energy, and warm hospitality.

We’re already looking forward to returning on our next trip to Palm Springs! Highly recommended for anyone seeking a memorable dining experience.

Love stopping in for their Cactus Queso Fundido. Super cheesy and love it with their fresh tortillas. This time I also ordered a single cheese enchilada too. Service was great even though they were busy for lunch.

I would not recommend this restaurant. Unfortunately, our experience was far from enjoyable. The waitress was unhelpful, dismissive, and downright rude, which set a poor tone for the entire meal. We were seated in a corner surrounded by leftover or empty gas tanks, which felt unprofessional and unpleasant.

The food itself was mediocre at best—not worth the pricing, especially considering the service and overall experience. For what we paid, I expected much better quality and atmosphere. Sadly, this was one of the most disappointing dining experiences we’ve had as a family, and we won’t be returning.

Good atmosphere, especially outside. Terrible food and slow sloppy service. Maybe the worst margarita I’ve had in years. Salty enchiladas and chewy dry fajitas. Go for a beer and guacamole. Avoid the other food and cocktails. Much better Mexican food down the street at Mole or pretty much anywhere in the valley.

It was wonderful to eat outside in January, with overhead heaters. The food and drinks are delicious and the service was wonderful. The dinner was reasonably proced and right on El Paseo. I especially loved the beautiful red geraniums that lined the planter boxes outside the restaurant.

I really wanted some cheap and delicious Mexican but when the menu said 3 tacos for $25 I opted for the salad. The salad was basic and had old lettuce in it.

The salsa and free chips def were amazing. And made the meal. The waitress was very attentive and nice
