Very good place getting training on livestock breeding. Very good training staff with good experience in this field. Must go before starting any livestock farm for valuable information. Food and coffee is also served here. People who come from far places can stay here by paying some amount and this is provided only during the training period. Do confirm before enrolling into training that if practical training is also provided because I took 3 days training and it was only theoretical.

Great place for learning, be it Veterinary graduates or farmers. One of the biggest and oldest livestock farm managed by State Government. Many activities like frozen semen production, fodder development, training, etc are being undertaken.

Very good place to see various breeding programs of domestic birds and animals like cattle, swan, ducks, poultry, rabbits, fish, semen harvesting of bulls, a few of which are really ferocious! Must see. You can also visit the Lake, Nrithyagram Dance Village, Film Shooting area, imported cows breeding area, calves shed... No hotels or eateries nearby. Have your food packed.

SLBTC has the responsibility to impart training in Dairying, Fodder Production, improved Animal Husbandry practices, producing Frozen Semen from highly pedigreed bulls, supply improved fodder seeds and rootslips to farmers, maintaining pure breed dairy animals, carrying out Embryo Transfer Technology Programme and Internship Training for Undergraduate Veterinary Doctors.
