5280 Processing is my go to meat processor for my deer and elk. We have only ever had one discrepancy and they went above and beyond to make everything right. Jessica is a joy to work with, and she is a very resilient owner. I recommend this place to all my friends and family!

My husband and I have taken a variety of game animals here over the last several years. The staff has always been very clear and concise about payment options as well as pickup times for our meat. We have always been happy with the quality of the products we have received (we typically only get bulk breakfast sausage, burger and roasts.) When you stick to mainly burger and roasts or steaks for your order it tends to keep the bill quite low. We have never had an issue with their turn-around time either. I believe the longest we've waited for sausage is maybe 6 weeks during the busier time of year.

They have not let us down yet!

Pros: Great service, kind staff, ability to process a large number of animals so you can likely drop of an animal at any time of the season, offers taxidermy services, and easy to follow menu is provided. Flexible payment option is rather nice. Paid half when dropping off and half when picking up

Cons: Price is much higher than you'd pay else where, almost all the steak I've had so far from my elk had a decent amount of hair on it. Surprising since I took my animal in skinned. Took a decent amount of time to receive back (steaks, ground took 2 weeks, and sausage took 8 weeks), Vacuum sealed meat is of poor quality. Leaks when defrosting is almost guaranteed.

Went to drop off well before 4PM (Google hours say they are open until 4PM) and the place was locked so called the number on the door and nobody picked up. Walked to the back and finally got someone to help but the worker was extremely rude so we ended up leaving. Took our animal to Meat Clever and had a polar opposite experience.

Took them over 3 months to process my deer quarters, but they let me know it would be a while, so I’m not faulting them for that. The ground stuff is fine, but their sausages are terrible. They ground the meat to a paste before stuffing the links and this obviously makes for a very dense and unappetizing result. Seasoning is “weird” as well for both the polish sausages and the snack sticks. Pretty disappointed to be forcing down my venison instead of enjoying it. Whatever “proprietary spice mix” they were supposedly waiting on for months certainly wasn’t worth the wait. Wont be returning- cheaper to buy a hand grinder and not ruin my meat.

I recommend going somewhere else, even my 14 year old some was unhappy about this place. I spent good money and received a poor quality of packaging. The burger is already starting to freezer burn after 5 days. I did not even get out the door and I knew I would never go back. I had an elk and a dear done at a different location and paid way less pond for pound.

I’ve had nothing but amazing experiences with 5280. Hands down the best smoked venison I’ve ever had. I’d sell my children for their smoked jalapeño and cheddar summer sausage or meat sticks. Won’t be taking my deer and elk anywhere else!

Drop off was so easy! They got me in and out but I didn’t feel rushed. They explained all the different cuts of meat, what cuts would be best for what. They were very knowledgeable and helpful. The price was very reasonable! (And I got a whole package of “samples”!)
